FLASH FICTION: UNTITLED

Let me tell you a story… a dark tale of regret, it all starts with an heartbreak…. and it ends with one also… the story is in-between…

She woke up crying in the dark, the room was unfamiliar, the faces were strange, but the feeling was old…. regret was her best friend…

She stood and stepped on a face, the owner was too passed out to feel the pain, looking around she realised she was the only female in the room…

So many naked guys, and she was half dressed. She tried to imagine the deeds of the previous night, the thoughts were too much to bear, she cried…

She cried quietly not wanting the men in the room to notice, then quietly she packed her bags and left the room…

At the motel reception, she found a payphone and called home…. the phone was answered on the first ring. It was her dad, he was worried…

He promised to send a driver to pick her up, 20 minutes later when the car came, he was behind the wheels himself, in a dressing gown. teary eyed…

Her dad looked  at his 15 year old daughter, with her skimpy skirt, in front of a rundown hotel and his emotions were too heavy for words…

On the way home nobody said a word, he was sad and she was tired…. they both stared straight ahead past the cars on the highway into the dawn…

As soon as they got home, he made her some tea, she sipped once and the cried into the rest, he just watched her… not sure what to do next…
